When the seasons change that can mean more yard waste for people to dispose of, and there are a few options for Perry residents.
Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson says beginning next week, on Wednesday, April 6th, will be the beginning of the yard waste pickup. Peterson says people should be on the lookout for the schedule in their water bill this month.
“Be sure to open your next water bill because it does have this summer into fall’s entire yard waste schedule including the holiday schedules and things like that that we don’t pick up yard waste on. So, be sure to open up your water bill this month. That schedule is there. We also always post that schedule on our website so you can find the schedule there.”
Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio there is also another option for people to dispose of their yard waste with the yard waste disposal site near the Sanitation Department as it is now reopened after a trial run.
“We decided to reopen that basically permanently as long as the weather cooperates. So, on a muddy day it may not be open but it’ll be posted right there at the entrance if it’s open or not. Basically same rules same regulations as last year.”
