Greene County High School has cancelled its Coed Early Bird track & field meet scheduled for today. No make up date has been announced. It was to have taken place today in Jefferson at Linduska Field just east of the middle school on the southern part of town, but it is cancelled. The Rams will try to open the outdoor track & field seasons later this week. Coach Derek Merk’s girls are scheduled to compete in Audubon on Thursday, and Coach Chad Morton’s boys’ are to go to Winterset on Friday.

The Greene County soccer teams have their season openers set for tomorrow. Maribel Hernandez is in her first season as head girls’ soccer coach and the Rams open up tomorrow vs. Grand View Christian (Des Moines) on the Rams’ home field in Grand Junction. The varsity match is at 5:30 p.m. with a shortened JV match to follow.

Coach Carl Behne and assistant Chad Black are back heading the boys’ soccer program. The Rams open on Tuesday in Boone with JV at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity teams playing at 7 o’clock. The Rams have qualified for the last two Class 1A State Tournaments and return eight starters from a season ago.
