One school in Guthrie County will have multiple students perform at the All-State Festival for Individual Speech on Monday.
Panorama had two performers including Kaidyn Dencklau who is performing in the category of acting and her piece goes through a teen struggling through life choices. Dencklau tells Raccoon Valley Radio about her initial thoughts of making it to the All-State Festival.
“It’s absolutely insane. I never thought that I’d be able to make it this far, but it’s really crazy that I made it, and I’m really happy that all my hard work finally paid off.”
The other performer will be Avery Bahrenfuss who is doing a storytelling piece called “Ferdinand and the Bull.” Bahrenfuss describes what the judges enjoyed the most about her performance at the state contest.
“They really enjoyed my highs and my lows of my voice changes. They said that it was just very well presented.”
The All-State Festival will be held on March 28th at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
