For one construction project which will bring a new business to Perry that was approved last year, progress has begun so far in 2022.
The Perry City Council approved the site plan and parcel creation for a Kwik Star at their meeting on November 1st, 2021. City Administrator Sven Peterson talks about some of the work being completed so far this year.
“I remember at the initial approval of that they were talking construction possibly in 2023 or 2024. So, we were all really surprised and excited when they came in right around the first of the year for their building permit and started the process of getting going on that.”
Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that construction has begun at the location on First Avenue where Kwik Star will build its convenience store and car wash. Peterson says the footing and foundation have been poured for the car wash and convenience store portion.
“Excited to see the progress on that. That’ll really brighten up that corner and hopefully bring more traffic and business to the other businesses along there as well in that strip mall.”
Peterson says he is excited to see the progress on the location that has been completed so far this year.
