As the conflict continues between Ukraine and Russia, one local lawmaker shares his thoughts on the situation. 

Iowa State Senator for District 10 Jake Chapman talks about his thoughts on topics including rising gas prices as well as the ongoing inflation and their relation to the ongoing situation in Ukraine. 

“Make no mistake, this is Joe Biden’s economy and gas prices were going up long before the Ukrainian conflict. We have inflation at a rate that is unsustainable, people are feeling it in their pocketbook. When you shut down pipelines day one, when you come in as the new President of the United States, this is the result, we are seeing gas prices at record highs.”

Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio his thoughts on the current situation in Ukraine involving the conflict with Russia. 

“What is happening in the Ukrainian and Russia war right now is you have a tyrant who is trying to take over Ukraine and we will continue to stand with Ukraine, we will continue to be an ally of theirs.”

Chapman says the Iowa Senate recently passed a resolution in support of Ukraine.
