The shot put may seem relatively easy, but as Greene County junior thrower Ashlynn Hinners explained to Raccoon Valley Radio, there’s a lot that goes into throwing the round metal ball successfully. “It’s pretty technical. You have to have your arm at a certain spot, and if your chest is down your throw is going to be too flat. If it’s too high it’s going to look like a bird landing on the ground, and you have to get your hips turned to a certain spot; it’s pretty technical!

Hinners will make her outdoor debut on Monday, March 28 (weather permitting) when the Rams host the Greene County Early Bird Meet in Jefferson at Linduska Field. It’s a coed event with a 4:30 p.m. start time.
