The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team had a successful season this year which included avenging their lone regular season loss in the game that sent them to the state tournament.

The Panthers girls were cruising through the regular season and came into a regular season matchup against another good team in the Nodaway Valley Wolverines. In what was a tightly contested matchup senior Payton Beckman gave the Panthers a two point lead with seconds left in the game. The Wolverines took a timeout and inbounded the ball to Lindsey Davis who heaved up a halfcourt prayer that fell,  giving the Wolverines a 55-54 victory in a game that proved to be a preview of things to come in the postseason.

The Panthers would go on to not lose another game in the regular season and took on multiple ranked opponents in Exira-EHK, Martensdale St. Mary’s and Des Moines Christian. Once the postseason began the Panthers had a shot to meet the Wolverines with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

The Panthers girls made their way through the postseason and found themselves in the Class 2A Region 7 championship game against the Nodaway Valley Wolverines. The Panthers avenged their lone regular season loss in dominant fashion by a score of 58-41 and punched their ticket to the state tournament.
