A car vs. semi crash in Greene County Thursday afternoon resulted in minor injuries.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s office, Scranton Fire Department and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene at 4:50pm on E Avenue near 290th Street. The Sheriff’s Office reports a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 29-year-old Caitlyn Day of Paton, was traveling north on E Avenue. Twenty-two-year-old Samuel Naberhaus of Scranton was traveling east on 290th Street in a 1978 Benson semi-tractor and trailer. Naberhaus failed to stop at the posted stop sign and pulled out in front of the Malibu. The Malibu struck the rear of the trailer causing $9,000 of damage to the car and $50 to the trailer.
Day and her passenger were taken by private vehicle to Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries, while Naberhaus was uninjured. Naberhaus was cited for failure to stop and failure to yield the right of way.
