The Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area is outpacing unemployment to begin 2022 when compared to this point the previous year.
According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County had a 4.8-percent unemployment rate this past January, which was 0.8-percent better than in January of 2021 when the unemployment rate was 5.6-percent. Greene County reported their percentage of individuals without a job in January of 2022 at 3.1-percent, which was an improvement from January of 2021 at 3.6-percent. Dallas County had a 2.9-percent unemployment rate for January of 2022. They are 0.6-percent better than January of 2021 at 3.5-percent.
Iowa’s unemployment rate for this past January was 3.7-percent and the national unemployment rate was four-percent.
