If you would like to learn more about farming and farms themselves, an upcoming program this weekend will have plenty of information.

Hometown Heritage at the Carnegie Library Museum will be hosting the third Sunday program beginning at 2 p.m. this Sunday from the Carnegie Library Museum. Those attending will get to meet two farm families that are century and heritage farmers. Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy talks about the program.

“These are programs that feature Perry area residents and these area residents have something they are passionate about. The first program is about century and heritage farms. Century and heritage farms respectively are 100-year-old farms and 150-year-old farms that have been in the same family.”

Topics will include things like what is a heritage or century farm and how do you become one among other things. There is no cost to attend the free program and no registration is required to participate.
