Gretah Kersey

Gretah Kersey is a Greene County High School junior who is involved in a variety of activities. Cheerleading and track & field are two of the things she’s involved in and Kersey talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about that combination. “I think track has definitely helped me with cheer because it helps get my legs stronger, which makes it easier to be a flyer, so it’s definitely a positive.” She explained to the interviewer what a flyer in cheerleading is. “I’m the cheerleader that’s being lifted into the air, and track definitely helps.”

It’s Spring Break in the Greene County schools this week, but the girls and boys track & field squads go to Storm Lake on Saturday for their third and final indoor meet at Buena Vista University. After that, the teams will prepare for the outdoor season, which is set to begin on Monday, March 28 at Linduska Field in Jefferson for the Greene County Early Bird Meet.
