The Greene County Lamb Producers are preparing to host their annual fundraiser this weekend.
The banquet and auction will be held Saturday at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. The event includes the Lamb Producers serving a leg of lamb dinner at 6:30pm, along with sides from the Lidderdale Country Store, including cheesy potatoes, taco salad, green beans and a fruit crisp dessert. Following the meal will be an auction and lamb livestock plaques from the 2021 Greene County Fair.
Proceeds from the annual fundraiser will help support local scholarships for graduating seniors, promotional grilling events, and the community lamb barn project, which allows youth who can’t afford to raise lamb to be shown at the county fair an opportunity to do so.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by any of the Lamb Producer Board members, including Eldo Walker, Steve Karber, Bill Taggart, Chuck Hare, Jeremy Hoskins, Kevin Lentz, Brian Sandage and Randy Hedges, or at the door.
