Winterset Huskies basketball will be playing the 3A quarterfinals against the Marion Wolves today at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, with hopes of making a deep tournament run. Both teams enter with identical records at 19-5, and will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Winterset was able to get through a good substate, which included victories over North Polk in the semifinals and the 2021 state champion Pella in the championship game. They will look to rely on senior Levi Gurwell and his 17.5 points per game and senior Dawson Forgy and his 11.2 points per game.

They also will look for continued excellent three point shooting as they have shoot 35% from deep as a team this year.

Keys for a Husky victory will include keeping Marion off of the glass, keeping them out of the paint defensively, and getting outstanding guard play from key players.
