A program will be kicking off this week in Perry where residents will be able to sit down and talk with various figures in the community.

Hometown Heritage at the Carnegie Library Museum will be presenting the A Conversation With series featuring Perry Mayor John Andorf beginning this Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. Perry Library Director Mary Murphy talks about the program.

“I’ve always thought that if people wanted to have a conversion with, let’s say this month we are going to kick it off with Mayor (John) Andorf, outside of a meeting, outside of going by him in the grocery store and just sit down and have a conversation with him about what’s happening in Perry, why did you want to be Mayor of Perry and what do you think the future holds for Perry?”

Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she feels it’s important to give citizens the opportunity to sit down and talk with various figures throughout the community while also getting to look at the history of Perry.

“Maybe your sons and daughters want to know why would anybody want to be a mayor, what does a mayor do? what are his duties? does he get paid or is he not paid? So, these are all curious questions that Mayor Andorf can answer.”
