Friday, March 4th
1:17am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 400 Block of Greenewood Road.
7:41am: A caller advised of someone burning in the 1200 Block of Rushridge Road. The officer did not locate the source of the smell.
8:56am: An officer started a Theft Investigation in which lumber was taken from a construction site at Cedar and Reed.
9:49am: The Greene County Treasurer’s Office requested a Welfare Check on a subject in the 300 Block of Greenewood Road. The officer spoke to the subject, who was fine.
12:04pm: An officer investigated an accident at North Locust and West Adams Streets. A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, owned and operated by Mindy Ford of Jefferson, was northbound on North Locust Street. A 1995 Chevrolet S-10, owned and operated by Christian Paniagua of Jefferson, was westbound on West Adams Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The Ford vehicle had a reported $2000.00 in damages, while the Paniagua vehicle suffered a reported $1500.00 in damages. Ford was cited for, “Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right.”
12:51pm: Fareway provided officers with video of a subject shopping at 1207 North Elm Street, who has been banned from the property. The officer is investigating.
2:06pm: Officers assisted a subject who had locked themselves out of their residence in the 300 Block of East State Street. The officers were able to gain access without damage.
3:52pm: The NRCS Office in Storm Lake requested an officer to speak to the resident at 506 North Vine Street. They have been receiving numerous calls from the subject about a broken water line, but can not help him. The officer asked the subject to end the calls.
8:42pm: Adam Coyne reported a male in dark clothing walking in the traveled portion of the road on 220th Street, near Elm Street. The officer located the subject and warned him about the issue.
9:36pm: Officers responded to 600 West Lincoln Way Street, after receiving a call about a Domestic Assault having occurred there. The officer spoke to the female, who advised of a physical assault. The officer found evidence to support the claim and has requested an Arrest Warrant for Zachary Allen Waters-Rice, 25 of Jefferson for, “Domestic Abuse Assault/Impeding Air/Blood Flow- D Felony.”
Saturday, March 5th
3:58am: ER requested an officer at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street for an Irate Patient. Staff had worked out the issue before the officer arrived.
2:57pm: An officer responded to 401 East Central Ave. for an Alarm Activation. The business was secure.
3:20pm: Bill Hamell reported a tank, possibly leaking a gas at 900 East Hwy. 30. The officer found nothing in the area.
10:43pm: A caller advised of a couple, who appear to be physically fighting in a vehicle at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the couple. Neither party would advise of a physical fight. The officer took no action.
11:41pm: An officer was requested at ER for a female who had been assaulted by her brother. The officer is investigating.
Sunday, March 6th
1:25am: An officer heard an Audible Alarm sounding at 1805 North Elm Street. While checking out the facility, the officer located an Open Door. The officer checked inside and did not find anything out of the ordinary. A Key Holder arrived and reset the alarm.
3:06pm: A caller advised of an Open Door at 1603 North Elm Street. The officer secured the business and advised a Key Holder.
3:49pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of North Oak Street.
6:19pm: Cody Lepur requested an officer to assist him in a Civil Property Exchange. The officer assisted in the exchange.
7:30pm: Kayla Cannon spoke with an officer in connection to a Civil Issue she had with staff at A&W, located at 300 North Elm Street. The business tried to work out the issue, but Cannon left.
7:41pm: Cody Lepur advised the two German Shepherds were attacking a dog that was being walked by its owner in the 400 Block of North Oak Street. The officer located a female and saw minor injuries on the animal. The officer issued Larry Jon Hovick (2) Citations for, “Animal at Large.” The animals were ordered to leave the city of Jefferson, per ordinance, after a 10 Day Quarantine.”
