A bill that addresses the way teachers are using learning material in schools continues to advance in the Iowa House.

House District 20 Representative Ray Sorensen says the House is working on a bill that would make lesson plans, other learning material taught and list of required books from teachers in schools public for parents to see. Sorensen explains that this bill is different from the Senate’s bill.

The one in the Senate, it’s a little bit more partisan and getting a little bit more attention, but the one in the house that we’re working on is simply based on transparency.”

Sorensen says the bill made it out of the committees and he is optimistic that this bill will get bipartisan support.
