Thursday marked the first day of high school track & field at Paton-Churdan high school. C0-coaches Jen Redenius and Joe Towers are both in their first seasons in their current roles. The Rockets aren’t scheduled for any indoor meets and their first outdoor meet is set for Tuesday, March 29 in Audubon for both girls and boys.

Bradyn Smith is a senior thrower, who also plans on running some 100 and 200 meter dashes. Smith throws the shot put and discus and he talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about his goals for this season. “I definitely would like to go to State. I improved 30 feet in the discus last year, so I’m going to try to add 30 more feet or close to that.”
