Grassley

During a stop in Guthrie Center on Wednesday, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley elaborated his thoughts on a new US Supreme Court Justice.

Grassley says with the departure of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, he says what qualities he looks for in a new judge that includes their education, opinions and interpretation of the law according to the intent of Congress. Grassley explains further on what he wants to see from a new justice on the highest court.

And not try to fill in some details that maybe Congress left out. That’s our responsibility as a congressional branch of government, not the courts should not be a super legislature.”

Grassley says most importantly he wants the new justice to interpret the constitution for its original intent. President Joe Biden recently recently announcement his proposed appointment of Ketanji Brown Jackson.
