The Perry City Council recently approved a service agreement for phone services at Violet Hill Cemetery.

City Administrator Sven Peterson says this approval along with another approval that will digitize the cemetery and map the cemetery to allow people access to look up where loved ones may be buried among other things are both ways the City is looking to make improvements.

“This is kind of another phase if you will. That really came down to a way that we can get better service because we have been having call quality issues for quite a while with the line out at the cemetery and then it will also save us about $500 a year. So, again great to be able to provide better phone service as well as save us a little bit of money.”

The Council approved a three year service agreement with Mediacom Business at their regular meeting on February 22nd. The new agreement will provide the services at Violet Hill Cemetery at a reduced price rather than what was previously being paid.
