In late November, the Guthrie Center School Board approved a new scoreboard for their football field for a cost of roughly $64,500 through Fairplay and now they are looking at offering  incentives to any business who advertises using the scoreboard during an activity.

Superintendent Dennis McClain says that the Board is looking at unique ideas to incentivize sponsors to purchase an advertising space on their new scoreboard.

You know, things like season passes or VIP parking or, you know, we’ve got suites and the press box, you know, maybe those would be available. So just some different things that, you know, might be unique to our situation that we could offer some of those sponsors.”

McClain says the Board has not acted on any of the incentives yet but adds when they do, they will be available for any school activity that involves the scoreboard.
