A two vehicle crash in Perry Saturday resulted in minor injuries.

According to the Perry Police Department, the collision happened at 12:33pm Saturday in the 400 block of First Avenue, near the intersection with Highway 141. Sarah Gelbowitz of Perry was traveling north on First Avenue in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and had stopped to turn east into O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. The Equinox was struck from behind by a 1995 Ford F-250 truck that was driven by Susan Anne Walters of Lorimor, Iowa. The collision caused the airbag in the Equinox to deploy.

Gelbowitz suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, while Walters was uninjured. Walters was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance. The Equinox had $5,000 in damage and the truck had minimal damage.
