WCV girls basketball coach Dave Druivenga sat down with me on the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page.

Coach Druivenga was asked about how the Wildcats were able to rally late in the season. Coach Druivenga said, “Well, first of all there was three home games. We had a unique year this year. We only had seven home games and 15 road games.

Druivenga continued, “Anybody knows I don’t care what level you’re at. From the pros to high school or whatever. Playing at home is much better than playing on the road. It helps out tremendously when you have the fan support and everybody there. It really helps at the end of the year. The fundamentals kicked in, we were at home, and the team gained some confidence.”

WCV ended the season with a four game winning streak before the loss to Treynor. Giving them an 11-11 record on the year.
