Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball will be participating in the state basketball tournament this upcoming week, as they hope to put up a strong performance this upcoming Tuesday at 11:45 am at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The Mustangs will be taking on the Benton Bobcats in the first round, as DCG is the top overall seed in the 4A bracket.

DCG is riding high on a 14 game winning streak, and are playing their best basketball of the season at the right time. They have faced Benton once this season in a neutral site game in December, and were able to win 60-27, as they held the Bobcats to only 18% shooting from the field.

This is the second consecutive trip to the state tournament for DCG, as they for able to win their first state game in program history before bowing out in the semifinals to eventual state champion Ballard. The Mustangs have played with energy and executed at a very high rate all season long, and will be looking to continue those trends in Des Moines.
