The Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament has been over since Saturday night. After limited spectators in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions, the doors were open to all wanting to purchase a ticket this year.

Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon was the Rams in Class 2A in person at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines last week and he commented to Raccoon Valley Radio about the event. “There’s really nothing like it, and to see it with people again and unlimited fans was really exciting, and it’s just a great, great event. I was really happy for our kids and our coaches to be able to go down and experience that. It’s a great things for the State of Iowa.”

The Rams were 10th in Class 2A, their best team finish in 40 years. Kale Petersen won the 120 lbs. weight class and McKinley Robbins was second at 132 lbs., while Gavin Scheuermann went 1-2 in matches and had a top 12 finish at 152.
