The Perry City Council approved the creation of an American Legion building fund at their regular meeting Tuesday.
The Council approved the American Legion building fund that will hold collected revenues and donations related to the property which will be used for things such as maintenance, upkeep, renovations as well as the cost for programming related to use of the building.
Also, the Council approved the maximum tax dollars from certain levies for the City of Perry’s proposed fiscal year 2023 budget which shall not exceed $2,920,590. Also, the Council approved multiple tax abatement applications for residential construction completed or to be completed in Perry in 2021.
Finally, the Council approved the creation of a City of Perry volunteer compliance program which will provide compliance assistance for those less able to act on their own and unable to afford or find help by recruiting volunteers to assist with the need.
Also, the Council approved a professional service agreement with Bolton and Menk for the Iowa Street wetland project not to exceed $110,730. The Council then approved a three year service agreement with Mediacom Business for Violet Hill Cemetery phone services which will provide a better quality product for less cost.
Also, Council member Curt Hite announced that the meeting would be his last as a Council member for the second ward as he is resigning due to moving out of town. The next Council meeting will outline how the position will be filled moving forward.
