The most recent Perry School Board meeting held multiple agenda items relating to foodservice changes for Perry Elementary.
The Board approved an agreement with Advanced Foodservice Consulting to look at potential changes for the Perry Elementary cafeteria. Superintendent Clark Wicks says the company will look at what changes could be made and then recommendations will be made to the Board.
“We need to look at efficiency and the quality of service that we can give students. One of the things that we want to do is have a company that focuses in and has expertise in designing different food services across the state and what we are going to do is get an idea from them what’re some possibilities for improving the efficiency of our Perry Elementary food service.”
Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio there is importance in having the food service area moving smoothly for multiple reasons including the amount of students who are served each day and the small time frame the service is completed.
“We know that human bodies need the best nutrition possible so we want to be able to prepare that food, we want to be able to give the very best to kids as well as the adults and because of the tight time frame that we are in throughout a school day we want to make sure that everybody has time to eat.”
The service agreement was approved at the Board’s February 14th meeting.
