The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team punched their ticket to the Class 2A Region 7 Championship game after a good performance Friday night.
The Panthers girls have been making their way through the postseason and now find themselves in the Regional Championship game after they took on the Central Decatur Cardinals Friday night in the Region 7 Semifinal game and came away with a 57-28 victory.
Head Coach Kylee Boettcher says during the game against the Cardinals Friday night the defense played into the transition offense which helped build a lead and there was great offensive production from the bench. During the game Payton Beckman led the way with 22 points, Zoey Hambleton contributed 11 points, Laci Rishel scored 9 points and Jaidyn Sellers scored 8 points on the night.
The Panthers girls are moving on to the Class 2A Region 7 Championship game where they will be taking on the Nodaway Valley Wolverines. During the regular season the Panthers only lost one game which was to the Wolverines by a final score of 55-54. During that game the Panthers led with seconds remaining in the game and Nodaway Valley called a timeout and inbounded the ball to Lindsey Davis who heaved up a running contested shot from half court for the win.
The Panthers girls are moving on to the Class 2A Region 7 Championship game where they will take on the Nodaway Valley Wolverines beginning at 7 p.m. February 23rd in Adel.
