A Perry resident was killed in a head-on crash Saturday in Buchanan County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at approximately 2:38 a.m. Saturday, 31-year-old Ronald Landals from Perry driving of a 2008 Pontiac was traveling north on Highway 150 near Oelwein when a 2011 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 27-year-old Brian Goedken from Independence, crossed the centerline heading south and hit the Pontiac head on and then went on to strike another vehicle in a 2021 Ford Explorer driven by a 26-year-old Mitchell Franck from Fairbank. Landals died from his injuries.
The Buchanan and Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Hazelton Fire and EMS also responded to the call.
