Class 3A schools are finished for Thursday on the eight mats at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines for their first round, followed by first consolation round. First round winners advance to the quarterfinals tomorrow morning, while those that lost in round one wrestled a second match in the afternoon on the consolation side of the bracket. Two losses today and your tournament is over.

Waukee Northwest brought 12 to “The Well” and eight were first round winners, and the Wolves have 11 of their 12 still in the tournament and going into day two have 32 points, tying them for second with Waverly-Shell Rock, just four points behind leader Southeast Polk (Runnells) with 36. Wrestlers and their results are listed by school in our area.
