Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers wrestlers Jake Alexander and Aiden Flora will be competing today in the state tournament in Des Moines, as both will be looking for strong showings in their first round matchups. Both are wrestling in 2A, with Alexander at 113 and Flora at 132, Flora qualifying as a district champion and Alexander making it as a district runner up.
Flora walks in with a 25-3 record and will be taking on West Delaware’s Blake Engel, with Engel sporting a 31-7 record. This is Flora’s first state tournament appearance, and after missing last season, a tremendous year has been put together, as he will look for a win in what is expected to be a close match.
Alexander comes into todays match with a 27-12 record, and will be taking on Carter Anderson of Albia, with Anderson coming in as one of the states best with a 42-1 mark. This is the second appearance at the state tournament for Alexander, as he will be looking to pull off the upset today.
