The Guthrie Center City Council met Monday night. 

The Council approved a  $50,000 contribution toward the Little Charger Early Learning Center for their new building project from the current fiscal year budget.

The Council held multiple public hearings and approved the maximum property tax levy, along with a housing rehab project where it was noted that Guthrie Center received $252,000 of a Community Development Block Grant for housing rehabilitation of six homeowners within city limits. 

The Council also approved a Central Iowa Surveying bid for Cameron Drive for an amount between $1,000-$2,000 for a building permit and for the City Attorney to see if the open burn to the Open Bible Church that resulted in $6,000 in fines from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources can be forgiven.

Finally, the Council approved to update their COVID-19 policy to five days paid leave for employees, appointed Mike Underwood and Wes Clark to the Housing Assessment Committee and to split the abstract cost for 907 Main Street for $800 with the homeowner.
