Greene County is sending three high school wrestlers to the state tournament.

Kale Peterson, McKinley Robbins and Gavin Scheuerman each won their respective weight classes at the district wrestling tournament this past Saturday. Peterson will be wrestling at 120 pounds and is undefeated this season at 9-0. Robbins is a two-time state qualifier and a state champion at 120 pounds his sophomore season. He will be wrestling at 132 pounds and has a record of 42-3. Scheuerman qualified for state last year and is taking his 40-6 record into this year’s state tournament at 152 pounds.

Raccoon Valley Radio will provide live coverage of the state wrestling tournament of the over 40 other state qualifiers in the listening area. Coverage from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines begins with Class 2A tomorrow morning at 9am, followed by Class 3A in the afternoon and Class 1A Thursday night.
