Dallas Center – Grimes boys basketball will be on the court tonight when they take on the North Polk Comets on the road, as the Mustangs will be going out of conference for the next week before postseason play. DCG is 15-4 and North Polk is 10-9.
DCG will be looking for a strong week after winning the Little Hawkeye Conference regular season championship with a 10-2 record. This is the first time that the boys have won the conference since the 2013-14 season. DCG is currently on a four game winning streak and is the number one seed in next weeks substate play, where the first couple of games will be in Grimes should the Mustangs advance past the first round.
Mustang basketball has faced the Comets the last couple of years, and have won both matchups, but know that the Comets possess some good players that will be tough to defend at times. Mustang basketball has had great scoring across the board this year, with four different players all averaging at least nine points per game, with all of the players being seniors.
The game is projected to tip off at 7:45 tonight, as DCG will be looking for another win on the season.
