The Guthrie County New Opportunities Family Development Center partnered with Guthrie County State Bank to raise donations that started early January.

Guthrie County State Bank Owner Shannon Neff-Muell says the fundraiser called “Souper Bowl Food Drive,” has gotten off to a slow start. She encourages people to continue to donate because the fundraiser doesn’t end until February 18th.

I would say we’ve got signs up at the grocery store, so hopefully, you know, when you’re out and about doing your grocery shopping, you’ll see those signs and throw a few extra cans into the cart. It can certainly be soup or just any canned goods.”

Neff-Muell notes they collected about 100 items so far. She says in past years they have been able to collect over 500 cans. These donations will be given to people in need around Guthrie County.
