Workers are continuing to make progress on the ongoing solar project in Perry.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says the project is still ongoing but most of the sites already have the solar panels up. The project aims to make city-owned facilities solar powered which will have multiple benefits for the city.
“It’s really just down to hooking up each panel to each other and then hooking those up into the buildings and switching the buildings over. So, a couple sites are done and then there is also a couple of sites that we are waiting on some parts, it’s down to everything is up but we are waiting on a conduit elbow or things like that.”
Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio work is continuing to run smoothly and the city is looking forward to flipping the switch to solar in the near future. Not only will the solar energy allow for less greenhouse gas emissions it will also save the City money on electricity costs.
