Earlier this week was the mid-term caucus for which both the Democratic and Republican parties in Dallas County participated in.

Media contact for Dallas County Republicans Terry Rich says in terms of the recent caucus the party had about the same turnout for the caucus like in previous years. Rich says he didn’t see anything different from a platform perspective and that the issues and programs are much the same as those of the national party. Rich says many candidates showed up to the caucuses this past Monday. They are still working to finalize the platform resolutions that will go to the county convention on March 12th.

For the Dallas County Democratic Party their caucus was held a little differently this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The caucus was held virtually and Dallas County Democrats chairperson Bryce Smith says roughly 200 people attended the caucus virtually and roughly eight platform resolutions were collected that will be presented at the county convention on March 26th.
