The WCV boys basketball team finished off the regular season on Tuesday.

The Wildcats were up against Woodward-Granger. WCV was looking to put a cap on a rough season. They were also riding the momentum of a win over Woodward Academy last week. The Wildcats jumped out in front early with a nine point lead, 18-9 after the first quarter. WCV continued to keep their feet on the gas. They outscored the Hawks 12-9 giving them a 30-18 lead at the break.

The game was evenly matched in the third. WCV slightly outscored Woodward-Granger 15-14 giving them the 44-33 lead heading to the fourth. The Hawks keep fighting and mounted an incredible comeback. They put 20 points in the four quarter. However, it wasn’t enough as WCV would  hold on to win. They took this one 59-53.

WCV had a tough year posting a 5-17 record.  They managed win their last two games. They’ll be competing in the Class 2A Region 8 Quarterfinal against Panorama. Tipoff is set for 8pm in Panora on Monday.
