Paton-Churdan’s girls’ basketball season has been a combination of injuries, illness, postponements, cancellations, and forfeits resulting in an 0-17 record. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rockets have one more chance to get into the win column when they play Ankeny Christian Academy at ACA at 7 tonight to open Class 1A Region 2 play. The Eagles are 12-9 and members of the Bluegrass Conference.

P-C is led by senior Carmyn Paup at over 12 points per game for a team that averages just under 30 per contest. Junior Emma Stream is at 9.6 points. Paup also leads the team in rebounds, assists, and steals. The Eagles average 42 points a game and are led in scoring by sophomore Chloe Roe at 10.4 points. Three other Eagles average between six and seven points per contest.

Tonight’s winner goes to Audubon on Feb. 15 to face the Wheelerettes.
