Wednesday, February 9th
7:09am: Michelle Cook reported a known female was threatening her as she drove to work. Cook did not give her location and ended the call. The officer could not reach her back.
7:57am: An officer assisted a motorist with Mechanical Issues at 220th and Grimmell Road.
7:50am: Tonya Wallace requested a Welfare Check on a subject in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer made contact with the subject, who advised he was home sick, but was fine.
9:28am: An officer investigated an accident at North Vine and West Clark Streets. A 2017 Chevrolet 1500, owned by New Opportunities of Carroll and being operated by Michael Berg of Anita, was eastbound on West Clark Street. A 2002 Jeep Liberty, owned and operated by Denise Lehman of Jefferson, was northbound on North Vine Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The New Opportunities vehicle had a reported $2000.00 in damages and was towed from the scene. The Lehman vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damages. Lehman was cited for, “Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right.”
8:24am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 307 South Wilson Ave. A staff member was located inside and had accidentally tripped the alarm.
2:02pm: Kristine Curtis reported smelling the odor of marijuana earlier in the day at 307 North Cedar Street. The officer advised her to call when she first notices the odor, so officers could take appropriate steps.
2:32pm: Michelle Cook reported she had been assaulted in the 100 Block of North Oak Street. The officer is investigating the report.
6:04pm: Kim Conner reported for the second night in a row, a male had knocked on her door looking for a female that does live at her residence. The officer spoke to a neighbor and learned the male was actually looking for her. The officer advised her to tell the subject to not knock on random doors in the neighborhood.
6:05pm: A caller reported an Unwanted Male was coming to his property at 100 North Olive Street, to drop off belongings for his wife. The officer spoke to both parties and attempted to mediate the issue.
8:03pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Head Streets resulted in Pat McDonald of Atkins being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
8:40pm: Gary Parker requested an officer at 606 South Maple Street for a Domestic Issue with his wife. The officer arrived and spoke to both parties, who agreed to separate for the remainder of the evening.
******** An officer has completed a Sexual Assault Investigation the began on 02/01/2022. As a result, Richard Dean Tuhn Jr, 43 of Jefferson has been charged with, “Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree – C Felony.”
