Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls basketball learned about their postseason draws on Wednesday, and both will be hosting home basketball games at least once during substate and district action.

The girls will have a bye in their first round before they take on the winner of either Boone or Webster City on Saturday, February 19th in Grimes at 7pm. If they win that game, they would get another home game on Tuesday, February 22nd at 7 pm in Grimes. If they win that game, they would advance to the class 4A state tournament. DCG is the only team in the district with a winning record.

The boys will get a home game against Saydel on Monday, February 21st at 6:30 pm. Saydel is 9-11 on the season. If the Mustangs win, they would get another home game on Thursday, February 24th at 7 pm against the winner of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn/Nevada. The regional final will be played on Monday, February 28th and will be happening at Ankeny Centennial High School. Ballard is the top seed in the other side of the substate bracket.

Both teams are coming off of good wins over Norwalk on Tuesday night in Grimes, and they will be both on the court tomorrow night when they are at home to take on Newton. The girls will tip at 6:15 and the boys will be at 7:45.
