Paton-Churdan

Paton-Churdan has finished the basketball regular season. The Rockets hosted Coon Rapids-Bayard last night in Churdan with CR-B winning the girls’ game 60-31 and CR-B taking the boys’ contest by a 52-36 score.

Carmyn Paup scored 16 points and hauled in nine rebounds for the Rockets. Haylee Duckett and Emma Stream each had six points and Stream had seven rebounds. The Rockets missed several games this season due to a lack of players, and are still looking for win number one.

Seth Thurman’s 12 points led the Rockets with eight by Joe Carey and Bradyn Smith. Thurman and Smith each had four rebounds and Thurman dished out four assists. The Rockets played without Shaydon Thurman due to injury. Justin Stream had three rebounds, three steals, and three assists.

The P-C girls’ open Class 1A regional play tomorrow night at 7 at Ankeny Christian Academy in the first meeting between the two this season. The P-C boys’ play Glidden-Ralston at Glidden at 7 on Friday night to begin 1A district action. The two boys’ teams have split their earlier meetings this season.
