Greene County residents are encouraged to attend a free forum this weekend.

The Meet Your Legislators event will be held Saturday at 10am at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens Education and Welcome Center in Jefferson. The forum will include Iowa District 24 Senator Jesse Green of Boone and Iowa District 47 Representative Phil Thompson of Boone will be on hand to give updates from their respective chambers and take questions from the audience. Jefferson resident Rick Morain will be the moderator.

Senator Green is serving his first term and serves on the agriculture, human resources, vice chair labor and business relations, natural resources and environment, veterans affairs, as well as ways and means. Representative Thompson is in his second term and serves on the appropriations, economic growth, government oversight and veterans affairs committees.

Attendees are encouraged to wear masks and questions from the audience must be submitted in writing and will be asked by the moderator. Saturday’s event is free and open to the public.
