The Panora City Council recently approved a new vehicle for their electrical department.

Mayor Pat Parker says the Council is creating a plan to give departments a fair shot to get a new vehicle.

“And some departments are able to buy pickups better than other departments, and so what we’re trying to do is come up with a rotation plan, so the current plan would be this pickup. The electric department would buy it, purchase it now and then five to seven years down the road,it would rotate to the water department and then (they) use it for five to seven years.”

Parker says the electric department will be getting a new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado for $42,900 using the electric department funds. He says this vehicle will give the department an easier way to go long distances to get parts.
