A Jefferson man faces a felony charge for an alleged incident from earlier this week.
According to the Jefferson Police Department, two search warrants were executed Tuesday morning from an investigation into a felon in possession of a firearm. Police officers searched a residence in the 300 block of East Vest Street at 10:41am and recovered ammunition. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office simultaneously executed the other search warrant in the 200 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction, but authorities didn’t recover anything.
During the search, police officers were notified that the suspect, 43-year-old Richard Tuhn, had forced a vehicle to stop and was blocking them from leaving on the S Avenue on 235th Street. Officers found Tuhn’s vehicle traveling west on 237th Street towards Jefferson and performed a traffic stop. Tuhn was then arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for dominion/control of a firearm by a domestic offender, serious misdemeanors for possession of methamphetamine, fourth degree theft and possession of marijuana. He was additionally charged with a serious misdemeanor for possession of marjiuana after a baggie of drugs was found on his person as he was being booked into the Greene County Jail.
He was booked and released under his own recognizance from the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
