Stuart Public Library

A local library is partnering with the Guthrie County ISU Extension Office to put together a program for students on their day off on February 7th.

The Stuart Library will have a Chemistry STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) that will be run by Extension Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark. Clark tells Raccoon Valley Radio what will go on at this event.

So we’re going to do a lot of different things. So for our younger kids, we’re going to use pint size science, which is provided by the Southwest Iowa STEM Hub. And so there’s a lot of hands-on activities there where they get to measure and calculate the different reactions that happen. We also are doing rubber eggs and different hands-on activities for the older kids as well. Oobleck and bath bombs and that sort of thing.”

This event is open to all students with no pre registration and is free at the Stuart Library from 2-3pm on Monday, February 7th.
