2021 winner: Angelica by Joe and Terry Malesky of Strafford Missouri

The deadline to submit applications for the upcoming 7th Annual Ring Out for Art contest in Jefferson is later this month.

Artists and sculptors are encouraged to submit designs for a public art display that will then be narrowed down by a selection committee to the four finalists, which will then go before the Greene County Supervisors for final approval. Once the four finalists are chosen, each artist will be given a $1,000 stipend to create their sculpture.

The sculptures will be put on display on the Greene County Courthouse grounds from May 1st-November 1st. Public voting will take place during that time to determine which sculpture will earn the People’s Choice Award. The winning artist will receive an additional $500. The 2021 winner was “Angelica” from artist Joe Malesky from Missouri.

Deb McGinn with Tower View Team appreciates the effort it takes to continue this kind of contest.

“The Ring Out for Art is a collaboration between Tower View Team, Home State Bank, and the Board of Supervisors, and it was a great exhibition this year. We hope that everyone enjoyed them as much as we did.”

Applications must be submitted to the Welcome Center in Jefferson by February 15th. Click the link below to access the application.
