With a large annual event taking place today in Perry, residents should be aware of street closures.

The 45th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey is today with the Perry Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the ride will come with some street closures to help out with parking as well as the start of the event.

“One being on Willis Avenue, that’s westbound between 1st (Street) and 2nd (Street), right in front of the Hotel (Pattee), so if you are trying to picture where that is, on the side for the library that will remain open but on the side of the Hotel (Pattee) that will be closed on the boulevard just to help us out with the group start but then by the afternoon that should be opened up.”

Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio another closure will be on 2nd Street; the road will be closed between Warford Street and Lucinda Street to help with overflow from businesses.

“That’ll be closed from the morning so that we can avoid parking issues and then that will open up for the ride to pass through and then close back down until about 7 or 8 o’clock at night.”

Pasutti also says people should be aware of the increase of foot traffic and bicycle traffic throughout town for the ride.
