Paton-Churdan lost a girl/boy basketball doubleheader in the Rolling Valley Activities Conference at Woodbine on Friday night. The host Tigers were 95-23 winners in the girls’ game and they took the boys’ contest 71-57.
The P-C girls fell to 0-12 on the season and 0-8 in the conference. Emma Stream scored 14 points and had six rebounds with Carmyn Paup adding nine points, five rebounds, and three steals. The Tigers, now 14-2, roared to a 27-2 lead after one quarter and they were up 53-8 at halftime.
Joe Carey scored 19 points and Shaydon Thurman added 16 for the Rockets, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Tigers. P-C fell to 1-13. Carey also had five rebounds and four assists and Parker Fitzpatrick had eight points and six rebounds. Bradyn Smith totaled seven points and seven boards for P-C. Justin Stream had six points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Woodbine led 38-32 at intermission and held a 33-25 scoring advantage for the final two quarters.
