Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School Speech Departments did well at this past weekend’s Iowa High School Speech Association’s Large Group District Contest. 

For ADM they had nine groups receive a Division I rating including varsity readers theatre, choral reading, two improv groups, radio news, short film and tv news. There were also a freshman readers theatre and improv that will be moving on to the state competition. There were approximately 70 students who participated. 

For Perry, six groups received a Division I rating and will be going onto the state large group competition. The entries included two in ensemble acting, two for group improv, along with readers theatre and short film. 

The state competition will be at West Des Moines Valley High School on February 5th.
