The Panorama Panthers girls and boys basketball teams took the court Friday night to renew a Guthrie County rivalry and came away with the sweep.

The Panthers took on a fellow West Central Activities Conference foe in the AC/GC Chargers Friday night in Guthrie Center. The Panthers girls were looking to beat the Chargers for the second time this season and came away with a 61-21 victory.

The Panthers girls completed the season sweep of the Chargers as this was the second time they came away with a victory against the Chargers. The Panthers girls moved to 15-1 on the season and 11-0 in conference play so far this season.

For the Panthers boys team they were looking to pick up a win against the Chargers as in their first meeting the Panthers lost by just one point falling by a score of 65-64. The Panthers boys went into Friday’s game looking to improve their record which they did with a 65-57 victory. The Panthers improved to 11-4 on the season and 8-2 overall in conference play.

The Panorama Panthers girls and boys basketball teams will prepare to take the court again soon when they take on the Martensdale-St. Mary’s Blue Devils on Tuesday at Panorama High School. The Panthers girls will tip off at 6 p.m. while the boys will follow at 7:30 p.m.
